My name is Brett Madrid

I'm Brett Madrid from Philomath, Oregon. I currently work as a freelance software developer. I have five year's experience developing both React and Node apps. Prior to that I have 23 years experience as a database analyst using SQL. I gained management experience as Director of Financial MIS for First Data Corporation. I have teaching experience as well as a Node instructor at Bloom Institute of Technology where I taught Full Stack software engineering students how to set up a RESTful API. Currently I am learning Typescript and NextJS. I also have a YouTube channel where I have a series of videos where I teach how to set up a RESTful API in Node.

I graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Computer Science from National University in San Diego, California. I also obtained my M.S. degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. I also spent two years studying Full Stack Software Engineering at Bloom Institute of Technology in San Francisco. Prior to that I was an F14 Electrician in the U.S. Navy and a Combat Medic in the U.S. Army. I am an honorably discharged disabled Veteran.
